The end of Philosophical Times: how to change philosophy so that it can participate in solving problems of the real world? Philosophy and problems of the real world
Abstract
We conjure up a hypothesis according to which philosophy and the real world do not have a direct connection, but we can imagine conditions for philosophy and the real world to be in a direct connection with each other. To make this connection possible we resort to the concepts of «impossibility» and «non-standard philosophy», we trying to talk about the reality as something bigger than just a mere byproduct of philosophy, we introduce the idea of a plurality of philosophies and question an ability of philosophy to be self-sufficient on its own. We reinterpret these results using the concept of generic and replace the well-known concept of overdetermination of philosophy with the concept of underdetermination, which Laruelle calls «an under-foundation» and which changes the course of relation between philosophies and other disciplines. In this case philosophies no longer tower over the latter, but are placed on the same level with them in order to create new connections between the philosophies and connections with other disciplines alike.
